This workshop for natural coloring on woven threads with traditional weavers in the village of Rebuk begins with an introduction to the basic techniques of color mixing.
It was like seeing a magic show and everyone was surprised when the mixed blue and yellow turned into green. Then came the introduction of materials and techniques for making dye paste from Indigofera sp.
All participants were enthusiastic about learning new terms such as scouring, mordanting, fixation, and many more. The good spirit of @bidadariku_official's friends to preserve the integrity of the Lombok weaving traditions seems to have been transmitted to traditional weavers in Rebuk village.
Hopefully, it will be maintained and many more will follow in the footsteps of preserving local culture & arts as we are.
This workshop was held as a form of support from the Titian Foundation and the Invest Islands Foundation for community empowerment in Lombok.
We seek to continuously arrange activities like this for the welfare and preservation of the environment in Lombok
