Access to Education is Essential for Development

Every individual has a right to proper education and the Foundation strongly believes that this can be improved in many communities in undeveloped areas. Our vision is to provide access to education facilities and create educational systems that will benefit communities for generations. This starts with our focus on the Batu Bangke school project which provides essential learning facilities and encourages the future of education.

WHO YOU ARE HELPING

By supporting the educational initiatives, support is ultimately being provided to young children through to young adulthood. This help extends in different aspects including:

Engaging young children at an early age. This is when the brain retains the most information and when fundamental learning aspects should be implemented.
Supporting learning growth through stages. As children progress into young adults, learning must progress in order to prepare them for employment and realize opportunity.
Future generation learnings. As education systems improve, a higher standard of knowledge continues throughout generations. This leads to higher quality of life, more opportunity, and ultimately a thriving economy.

HOW YOU ARE HELPING

Many children in Indonesia grow into adulthood without realising the true potential of their skills. By improving access to education, introducing modern technology, and improving resources, the vision is to benefit children, teachers, and parents. Whilst many efforts focus on the present, they will ultimately have a profound effect in the future when older generations hold qualifications and have perhaps lived a more successful life. By creating the Batu Bangke school project, the Foundation can improve the standard of education and contribute to its reform for the benefit of local communities for years to come.

HOW EDUCATION BECAME A FOCUS OF THE FOUNDATION

THE RESULT

One of the core values of Invest Islands Foundation is that education should be accessible in every community. This was demonstrated with the Batu Bangke project that has improved the educational standards in this community. One pivotal aspect of this project was to encourage the use of technology, which was achieved with installing electricity in the school.

THE BUILDING DEVELOPMENT

‍The students that followed a 6-year educational program would only achieve a basic early-level education. This was due to the lack of qualified teachers and limited educational resources at the school. Following this discovery of the school, Kevin funded the reconstruction of the school which was successfully completed back in 2019.

THE UNDERDEVELOPED

After discovering a run-down school building that was still providing low standards of education, Kevin Deisser knew this should be a focus project of the Foundation. The school in Batu Bangke, South Lombok, was heavy run-down, had no adequate flooring, and lacked essential supplies. This combined with the low educational standard was of no benefit to the local children.
